1. How are Baby’s First Impressions plaques different from the plaques you can create from a kit purchased at your local craft store?

Using those kits you buy at the local craft store can be so difficult! Baby’s First Impressions uses professional ceramic clay, capturing every fine line and detail for your child’s hand or foot. By using ceramic clay, a foot or hand impression takes only seconds to create. The kits are plaster and you can end up with a mixture that is too dry, or too wet. Kids won’t hold still, or they want to play in it! Most kits will provide you with disappointing results.

2. What makes Baby’s First Impressions plaques so unique?

Every plaque is one of a kind. You create your own plaque by choosing a shape, colors, and decorations. No two plaques are the same! All plaques are hand painted, stamped, glazed, and finished with a decorative ribbon. A special message can be inscribed on the back for no additional charge.

3. My baby holds her hand closed tight, or I have a child that won’t hold still! How will you get their hand impressions!?

Baby’s First Impressions uses a specific technique to ensure a great impression every time! There hasn’t been a baby or child we haven’t been able to get!

4. What does it cost to do Baby’s First Impressions?

It depends on what type of plaque you decide to create. The range is $20-$48 for the most popular pieces. Specialty plaques can range between $75-$110. Please view our products for specific pricing on each item.

5. Where are you located and do I need to schedule an appointment?

Baby’s First Impressions is located in North West Fresno, off of Herndon between Milburn and Blythe at 4733 W. Spruce Avenue #116. Yes! You need to schedule first! We work by appointment only, let us know what day and time of the week works best for you.

6. Does my baby need to be a certain age to create a plaque at Baby’s First Impressions?

No! Baby’s First Impressions has done babies as young as 6 days old, to young children… even teenagers, and Mommies and Daddies. If you have a young baby, come see us before they get even bigger!

7. How long will the appointment take, and when will I get my finished plaque?

The appointment usually takes about 30-45 minutes. The finished plaque will be available for pick up in approximately 4 weeks. Since all plaques are hand crafted, that time is needed for the artistic process. Holidays like Mother’s Day, Father’s Day and Christmas are the busiest, so please leave yourself enough time to get the work back!

8. When do I pay for my plaque and what forms of payment do you accept?

Payment for your plaque is due when you come in for your appointment. We accept Cash, Checks, Visa and Mastercard.

9.What happens if my plaque is damaged?

Ceramics are very delicate and somewhat unpredictable. In the rare and unfortunate event that your First Impression Print has an imperfection caused by clay or glaze anomalies, kiln misfires or breakage, you will be given the option of a full refund OR we will make a new First Impression plaque for you free of charge.

10. Is it possible to have Baby’s First Impressions come to my home?

The only way to have Baby's First Impressions come to your home is by hosting a First Impressions Party. How does it work? Have at least 4 Mommies at your party, and be comfortable in your own home with food and drinks while you have your plaques created. The hostess will receive 20% of her party towards First Impressions of her choice. (The party earns $200; hostess receives $40 to spend)

11. Does Baby's First Impressions only create plaques for children?

NO! We have recently started creating plaques for other “family” members! Get your dog and cat’s paw prints preserved in their own plaque! Check our product page for pricing. (Dogs must be small breed, no more than 15 pounds, please.)
